Yellow 12 o clock marker is the single option that I wished I got but couldn't (I tried getting it but was denied). I'm tempted to rig some sort of yellow fabric (think thick tread) in the two groves currently at 12 o clock to get a "pinstriped" effect... I wouldn't embark on this project until the replacement wheel with marker is made available on suncoastparts.

The car drives the same with the marker or without. Same goes for full leather,LWBs,carbon fiber, clock etc. Those only score points at C&C.
If you're a driver you don't care.

The surface is not uniform, therefore, the threads will not look right. I've tried it using Rod Building color fast thick thread. I've used tape too, but it looks like tape. Perhaps the spray paint is the best idea. Or, send the wheel out and have it re-wrapped with the yellow Alcantara piece installed. I believe a company called Dallas Custom Steeringwheels does such a thing.

I was also denied even that it was available in the configurator.......I think if you try to dye or paint the area the dark base color of the current alcantara will darken to much the yellow. We need to see up close an actual Steering wheel with this option....and while it doesn't help the car in any way or make it perform better it just looks right on a GT car.

on my RS alcanatra wheel its painted. The one I saw on gt4 at my dealer was painted also. Also tried all interior packages and only the yellow package comes with this as available. Makes no sense but then again we are talking Porsche here

Somebody here on Rennlist did just that an it looked very good...
Anyone know what thread that was on or who it was ??

Go on line and order Gaffers racing tape. It is a cloth(adhesive) and you can cut and use that and will not damage your wheel when you take it off. It will save you money rather than ordering a new wheel

JVCC Stage-Set Spike Tape is a 1/2 inch wide gaffers tape that comes in 19 different colors. Spike tape is a narrow gaffers tape which is used to mark stages and for other color coding applications. Since it is a gaffers tape it will not leave adhesive residue behind when removed, can be torn by hand, and will not reflect light. Applications for spike tape include: color coding & marking; spiking stages; gaffing lights and bundling wires.

I'm not exactly sure what you're saying, but for me I believe it does help- basically for the reasons in the two previous posts.

Yw. Lol, I don't know about that one. JVCC seems to be the one people most commonly use. And it looks awesome.

Dave, that is a nice upgrade on your GTS. Can you provide more info on the where and how of going that route?
Thanks

The Gaffers tape option is very appealing for under $10 vs the $325 that Porsche wants.
But I guess its hard to really pick without first seeing the factory finish.
Thanks

I have the yellow stripe in my car. I just took a closer look and it is dyed yellow alcantara. I am so used to the one in my M3 that I had to get in for the GT4. It was open for a short time before my order locked so I was lucky to get it on my car.

Wow, that DOES look great!! It works especially well on the smooth leather wheel.
