On every track I drive there is at least one turn, usually at the end of the longest straight, where I downshift directly from 5 to 3 skipping 4th gear. Will the auto blip on a GT-4 accommodate this or must you go 5-4-3?
Auto-blip should accommodate that, but why do you skip 4th? You're putting more wear on your 3rd gear synchros by skipping it, making it harder to get a smooth rev match (since two small blips is easier than one big one, though obviously not a concern with auto-blip) and if you clutch out to actually shift into 4th rather than just going through the gate to get the synchro and rev match benefits, you'd get some extra engine braking out of the deal as well. At CotA's back straight I go from 5th to 2nd and clutch out on all intermediate gears.
All High-Performance Driving Schools like Bondurant, Skip Barber, etc recommend not skipping gears, ever. Going thru gears helps avoids miss shifts, develops a rhythm and extend gear life...

It does work properly when skipping gears, though of course it's a good idea to delay the downshift when skipping gears, to reduce the chance of an overrev.
I assume the car has no protection against a money shift even when using the auto-blip. Does anyone know otherwise?
