You can get that made at my local upholstery shop for $200-300 tops.

Great idea. I've been using one of these:

Maybe it could be placed behind the seat cushion...

Thanks, this is the best part about forums like this. Had a snap in My back due to overloding training. That made it almost impossibel to sit in my LWB. Must for sure try this. Can't imagin why I did not think of this solution my self

Most likely not real alacantara, though, if that matters.

This would not be a bad option. You can purchase different thicknesses and cut it to fit your needs.

You can also use an inflatable lumbar seat support and tuck it back behind the seat

http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/inseluinairc.html

I used one for my 987 Spyder with carbon buckets but ultimately did better with folding and contouring material that's used for keeping carpets from sliding on the floor. It was easy to use.

First time I have seen any comments about the LWBs being less than entirely comfortable. Worth mentioning the lack of lumbar support on the LWB vs Sofa thread? I assume that people are making buying decisions based off what people write there (not everyone has ready access to try out the LWBs). If lack of lumbar support is an issue (for some) then it might be worth someone providing their feedback in that thread.

Edit: And linking back to this thread with the fix.

Hey, what do you expect for a $4,700 option?

In case anyone was wondering, the seat cushion is attached with that very same velcro. See pic below. Installing some additional padding under the seat cushion would allow you not only to change the height of the seat bottom. It would also allow you to change the rake of the seat bottom. The oem electric seat height adjustment has a small effect on rake as the seat goes up and down. Installing padding under the seat cushion would allow you to fine tune it.

Some of you have suggested using foam padding under or behind the cushions. This should work fine, too. I've used foam on race seats in the past. You certainly don't need to use a towel as I did. But, in this case, the towel was handy and it worked perfectly!

I've had a couple sets of the rigid shell Euro GT3 Seats made for Porsche by Recaro (think gen.one LWBs) since 2006. Those seats come with a fabric covered foam lumbar pad that is attached using Velcro. It is hidden behind the removable seat back cushion that is also Velcroed in place like the seat back cushion in your LWB. You can reposition the pad up or down it to accommodate your lower back. A similar fabric covered contoured lumbar pad made by Sparco can be purchased on EBay or Amazon.

The bottom photo shows the moveable lumbar pad hidden behind the seat back cushion on the GT3 seats.

first thing I'm doing when I get the car, is putting in some seat heater inserts.. no idea why these seats couldn't have them, but I have a bad lower back, and with the car being a Spyder, seat heaters will be a must. i looked at a gt4 with LWB's and especially on driver's side there is a slot at the bottom, can run the wires and controls out from there and tuck the controller under the seat.

anyone foresee any issues with placing some heating elements behind the cushions?... shouldnt ruin/affect anything should it?

Cut foam to the desired size and stack to the needed thickness. Best to not remove the whole cushion just pull up the bottom, place the foam to your desire in the lower 1/2 of the seat back and push the cushion back in place. If you don't detach the upper portion there is no need to worry about correct cushion replacement and getting fit right.

I've been using the Tempur Pedic travel lumbar pillow ($60) in every track car since 2011.
The price is ridiculous but it's a great pillow and I've never found a less expensive alternative that works equally well.

http://www.tempurpedic.com/tempur-tr...ion-travel.asp

I'll be trying some of the DIY solutions in this thread for the GT4, and maybe I can hide the lumbar pillow in the same fashion in the Cayman R LWBs. The lumbar pillow is very dark navy - almost black and disappears against the seat but I'd still rather not see it.

Just bought this yesterday
It should just slide in behind the seat upright cushion ...
