Not my car anymore (long story), but it's fantastic on the GT4. I would choose the same again if not PTS.

Yet GT4's continue selling for $10K or more over.
I think most RLers willing to pay over MSRP do not want to say it publicly here out of fear of being flamed. There is one guy on the GT3 boards who is literally abusive toward anyone who admits to paying over MSRP. And then you have many people who will pay a premium who are not on RL. 10K over MSRP really isn't much if the spec is what you want.

I did.

Each of us has to decide what we are willing to pay based on our financial situation, our own circumstances and what time, waiting and deferment of a decision is "worth" to us. We also have to realize that buying a car is almost always more of an emotional decision than an "investment", as they are mostly depreciating assets with us rarely being lucky if a car such as this hopefully appreciate over time.

Since I was late to the GT4 party, wanted out of my old car badly, had one pop up locally, and due to very personal circumstances was not willing to wait, I decided to pay well over MSRP (>10k) to get one. I am not ashamed of it and neither do I regret it, on the contrary, I would do it over again. That's just life and I recognize if my circumstances were different I might be on the other side stating loudly that I will never pay more than a penny over MSRP.

That's the beauty of the free market. Each of us can decide for ourselves whether paying a certain amount (or not) is worth it based on our own circumstances. There is no "right" or "wrong". We each get to make the "right" decision for us.

In the end we all share the love and enjoyment of a great car and a passion for driving, performance and great engineering. And that, to me, is a win for all.

Live Hard. Live Fast. Live Fearless. Be Kind.

Cheers

No.

Buying a new car at 10% over sticker would leave a bad taste.

While over sticker is never ideal, 10k over is completely worth it for this car, it is incredible. My test for anything expensive is will you be thinking about the money spent or enjoying the experience. In my opinion, you will have no regrets.

No. I love my GT4, but at 10k over, I'm into new 911 GTS territory.

I almost did. I want the car for MSRP but then a buddy let me have a drive in his GT4. I immediately thought 10k over isn't so bad. My local dealer has fetched 30k over MSRP which I find nutty.

Interesting. Was there anything during your test drive that triggered the "aha" moment?

The most recent Panorama #703 has a GT4 listed in The Mart for $148k. MSRP of $112.

Even if pricing were the same, I'd take a GT4 eight days a week over a 911 GTS. But to each his own.

I would. 10k over seems the norm.

My money is on the gas pedal

I would pay $15k over if it came with LWBS.
