Great, more stealership games are coming with the 991R. Good thing I have ZERO interest in that car. This kind of **** is the most annoying...just like dealers buying RS allocations from each other. I wish some reporter would write a story about this kind of crap and put these stealerships and PCNA on blast.

One problem is dealers that abide by the rules are so overwhelmed with customers the Stealerships get sales by default! 2slow2speed has it right ...PCNA should do a better job of managing unscrupulous behavior.

You're assuming there is anything they can do. Many of the things mentioned in this thread, while maybe unsavory, are probably not forbidden under the dealer agreement. So PCNA probably doesn't have much ability to do anything.

In 3-6 months they'll need to be discounting it by $5k to sell the ones sitting on the lots.

I tell you what,I wouldn't pay a premium for any car,but speaking of the Miata,if I didn't enjoy thrashing my NB so much right now,I'd definitely get the ND! Man,they're so much fun! I'll pick an ND used down the road because I'm cheap.

I had an NA and an NB. Loved them both. Would have no problem driving another.

They just don't care. Here is a tidbit from my exchange with them (multiple phone calls, multiple emails with increasing levels of mgmt):

Good afternoon Mr. C,

I was concerned to read your email and wanted to reach out to you. Our group in the customer commitment can request the dealership to comment on sales matters, but unfortunately we are not in a position to intervene in matters of sales. I believe the best course of action would be for you to write a letter to the general manager of Porsche of XXX. I can provide you with contact information and addresses if you like.

The Porsche dealerships have the autonomy to conduct all sales matters and as such have the final say on who they sell vehicles to. If there were any confusion regarding the sales issues I am sure they would be open to discuss the matter with you.

I understand that this is not the answer you would want to receive, and I am sorry but this will be a matter to discuss with your dealership.

Kind regards,

Mr. PCNA Manager

Until they give a **** about you and me, it's a zero-sum game. I reminded them that their name is on the building, they determine allocations, they specify what dealerships should look like, what training they need, etc., i.e. EVERYTHING. So for them to cop out on helping a customer with a proven purchase history is pretty pathetic.

It has nothing to do with whether they give a crap or not. Legally, there is nothing they can do. Dealers are independent resellers that have the right to set their own sales prices and terms. PCNA can cajole the dealers, which I'm sure they do as a group, but there is nothing they can do about an individual dealer. They're just being honest with you. You simply have to accept the fact that the dealer is not Porsche or PCNA. They are an independent Porsche reseller. Railing at PCNA is like yelling at a hooker's mother about her daughter's pricing.

Sure they can...they can give those rogue dealers NO GT allocations and give them all the crap cars that they end up selling for under MSRP. That might straighten out a dealer very quickly.

Yes and then they can get sued by the dealer for violating the agreement and punishing them unfairly. They can't mete out punishment for something that's not a violation of the agreement. Particularly when many of the dealers are doing the same thing. Don't like a dealer, find another. But don't blame PCNA. It's pointless.

And I'm sure PCNA will say that all allocations are at their "discretion" and will vary by dealer. PCNA controls allocations to dealers, why not go to the source? They are feeding the troll stealerships and allowing one stealership to sell an allocation of a GT to another stealership as speculation not to help a customer out. I played by the rules now that I know how the game works and am willing to give them my current GT cars as trade ins...let's see if I get any .2GT car allocations or if it'll be another circle jerk with dealers doing the same crap. If I get screwed over (because I don't buy dozens of non GT cars), then I'll be done with Porsche for good.
