On a Dynojet with SAE smoothing, the 997 GT3 gets about 380 and the RS about 405 whp. Pretty consistent +/- 10whp based on temps and shop.

Are you saying the GT4 is 400 whp SAE - or is that estimated engine output?

That can't be WHP. It is BHP interpolated from WHP readings.

Right and corrected for altitude, temperature, barometric pressure, etc...

From the website:

We house a SuperFlow AutoDyn 30 AWD Chassis Dynamometer that can accurately measure 1200+ whp (wheel horsepower) and speeds of 200 mph (300kph) using the latest technology in electronic data acquisition and practical engine function graphing techniques.

Our AWD Chassis Dynamometer combined with our Drive Wind Simulation and Air Flow Systems realistically simulate the road conditions in test operations.

Would be nice to see the actual wheel power and torque numbers and maybe a dyno graph? Any chance?

usually dyno's will give you the power at wheel, was this number (404bhp) converted from that.

Some dynos back out the crankshaft number

Anyway, it would be more useful if there were comparisons of this particular dyno with a 991.1 C2S, and/or more info about the dyno machine and any relevant graphs with the original HP at the wheels as well.

Having ripped through the gears in mine a bit now I would say there is no way in hell this car is making more than 330whp on a typical Dynojet. I would guess between 310-330whp. My usual shop went out of business otherwise I could get some numbers and have a bunch of other cars from that dyno to compare to.

Have a feeling the car will feel weaker than it'll actually dyno due to the long as **** gears 1-3 that u will probably normally use ripping through gears on the street.

There is a detailed thread on planet-9 showing a GT4 achieving 325WHP on a MAHA dyno... not sure how they compare to a Dynojet.

When I was into drag racing muscle cars back in the 70s, we would measure our performance mod HP gains based on 1/4 mile times at the track. We were able to quickly dispel some of the exaggerated HP claims by some performance companies with a trip to the drag strip.

Maha is lower than a Dynojet. I would expect 340ish to 350rwhp. Let me see if I can get one from my contacts in Germany.

Makes sense if you assume 15% drive train loss.

I've put on about 1200 miles so far on my GT4, it feels about 330 whp.
