How loud is the GT4?
I have seen a fair amount of discussion about the loudness of a GT4, so I thought I would use by '14 CS as a point of comparison. I used a sound meter program on my iPhone, which my acoustical engineer tells me is pretty good. Both of these readings are taken on the same road (Dallas Tollway) at 70mph with the throttle at steady state cruising.
The first one is the CS, the second one is the GT4. The overall sound level is not much different: 75db vs. 75.4 db. However you can start to se a difference from 250hz on down. Which correlates to the louder rumble that you hear, mostly from the tires (Dunlop). As soon as you begin to accelerate this difference becomes much more pronounced with the significantly louder exhaust in the GT4. My feeling is that in steady state cruising the GT4 is very civilized and very liveble, but one you hit the loud pedal....;-)
