I would tell him to list the car now before more allocations start getting handed out.
I think your 918 owner friend may want to ask about the 6 month waiting period if they are interested in staying in the VIP program for the future...

Ive only heard this from a few different SA's at this point, but if they sell before the 6 month period they are then not able to still get this preferential treatment.

Part of the reason there are 2-3 cars sitting covered at MMC in NYC patiently waiting...

That applies to dealer principals who bought 918s and are trying to sell their GT4s/RSs. The 918 owner is personal friends with the sales manager and owner of his dealer so I think he knows what he's doing.

I would think my friend knows what he's doing...after all he's owned a porsche dealership for a couple of decades.

I for one hope he gets his 160k so we can start posting For Trade threads on the GT3 forum. Maybe even on FerrariChat too for a "high mileage" 458!

A trade for a 458 is the one thing that would get the GT4 out of my garage. One can only dream. Don't see it happening. Even though 458's are declining at the moment I don't expect it to continue much further.

More power to the pillow biters that are trying to make a few bucks flipping their GT4's. I'm glad my dealer is reputable enough to sell at MSRP and I'm even more glad I don't need to flip it for profit as $20-30k is immaterial to me in the grand scheme of things.

$20-30k won't change my life at all, but having a GT4 to enjoy certainly will!

Another "investor" participating in the enthusiast auto market. Can't wait for the big correction... People are high.

Phrases that come to mind in this case are:
"There's a sucker born every minute"

"A fool and their money are soon parted..."

Yada yada yada....
This is a whole new level of stupidity
This guy makes loan sharks look like Mother Teresa !!
Sorry but I had to say it

Well the original ad was taken down and then reposted with more accurate information. Listed as a used car now.

He is still sticking to his claim he was offered $30K over and turned it down. lol. Dude you should have taken that deal!

The fact that the 918 owner has a 6% sales tax rate and I would have had to pay 8.1% for a new car means that I'm effectively paying $8k over what I would have paid for the car at MSRP from a dealer.
I'd do that deal. A good friend did the same as you, $10K over from a 918 VIP customer...and he's pleased as pie.

Anyone who would pay $160k for a GT4 is a total moron, but, as well know, 'Murica's full of em and you only have to find 1.
