GT4 to a new home
#46
Your friend needs to do his homework. I'm buying a GT4 from a 918 and going to have it transported over to me once it hits his dealers floor. There's no 6-month waiting to sell any car other than the 918. In 6 months there will be a lot of other GT4 allocations. I would tell him to list the car now before more allocations start getting handed out.
Ive only heard this from a few different SA's at this point, but if they sell before the 6 month period they are then not able to still get this preferential treatment.
Part of the reason there are 2-3 cars sitting covered at MMC in NYC patiently waiting...

I think your 918 owner friend may want to ask about the 6 month waiting period if they are interested in staying in the VIP program for the future...

I would think my friend knows what he's doing...after all he's owned a porsche dealership for a couple of decades.

i knew this thread had "Train Wreck" written all over it...
Again, i have not been disappointed...
I cant wait for the next presidential election and some normal market correction...
Everything needs a haircut... Even Trump in 2016... Go Donald...
ok.. clean up the track and let this train roll on...

More power to the pillow biters that are trying to make a few bucks flipping their GT4's. I'm glad my dealer is reputable enough to sell at MSRP and I'm even more glad I don't need to flip it for profit as $20-30k is immaterial to me in the grand scheme of things.
$20-30k won't change my life at all, but having a GT4 to enjoy certainly will!

Phrases that come to mind in this case are:
"There's a sucker born every minute"
"A fool and their money are soon parted..."
Yada yada yada....
This is a whole new level of stupidity
This guy makes loan sharks look like Mother Teresa !!
Sorry but I had to say it
The moron that pays that should be put back in kindergarten!

Well the original ad was taken down and then reposted with more accurate information. Listed as a used car now.
He is still sticking to his claim he was offered $30K over and turned it down. lol. Dude you should have taken that deal!

I'm going to put this out there just so it's on the record and people have some data points. I'm paying $10k over MSRP plus covering the sales tax for the GT4 ordered by a 918....the ONLY reasons I'm paying over that much are as follows...1) car has LWB seats, 2) car is spec'ed 90%+ how I would have done it, and most importantly 3) since I'm buying the car from a private party I won't be paying sales tax on the transaction. The fact that the 918 owner has a 6% sales tax rate and I would have had to pay 8.1% for a new car means that I'm effectively paying $8k over what I would have paid for the car at MSRP from a dealer.
