This brings up an interesting question...do Porsche dealers put a customer-ordered car on the showroom typically before pickup and if so do they let anyone sit in them?

 

I think they are usually locked when it is a customer car. Funny enough when I looked at the GT4 on the floor at Auto Gallery I didn't even try the door so I don't know if it was locked or not. But I assume it was locked. When I found out is was a customer car I didn't even touch it.

This brings up another observation though. When you buy a "new" car you have no idea how many people have sat in it.

Still if mine arrives midweek and ends up sitting at the dealer for a few days I am going to ask them to keep it locked.

 

My local dealer locks all cars after they are purchased and will not let anyone sit in them or even open the door to look inside. They will not let people in any car that is a pre-orderd car. When I got my R they had a guy that drove 2hrs to see it and would not open it for him. Needless to say I understand he was not happen. I was gland they did not let him
