Like any intelligent well run business, Matt is polling his customers to see what they really want. This way he has the largest potential pool of buyers and can make a reasonable return on his (very expensive) investment. Otherwise, you may satisfy only a small few, and go out of business in the process.

You can thank the high powered 997 turbo mile racers. Turns out that the tooling required to do their gearkit is the same as doing the GT4 mainshaft. The turbo project just sucked up a bunch of the R&D cost of the GT4 stuff.

i told matt this:
asking what customer want is not very useful
the only real question is what they want to PAY.
money talks, everything else is pure garbage.

2nd gear topping out at 65 would be ideal, in my opinion.

Yeah, it's about that. Honestly, it doesn't sound like a big difference, but that will be very noticeable, I like it! It's also just long enough that it might still be useful at a few tracks (I'd rarely get into 2nd at most tracks if it only went to 65).

(I'd ideally go even less extreme, 48 77 105 129 153 182, very close to stock, but you'd feel the difference if you were driving, less rpm drop 1-2,2-3, but about the same drop 3-4,4-5,5-6, it would feel more punchy even with only 5 mph shorter for 2nd gear, 9 mph shorter 3rd, but would also still work well on track. Too short and it feels good, but I think might be slower on track, just my two cents)
