I guess you consider a minivan vehicular castration

Not in all cases!

I have a 12 year old and a soon to be 14 year old. The 14 year old is beside himself with excitement over the GT4 - he fully expects it to be his car when he turns 16 (not gonna happen) - but as I always tell my kids "dreaming is free, never stop".

As to the Mini Van comment you noted - My wife said she would marry me with 1 condition - I said what - she said "that I will never have to drive a mini van"! At that point I knew I had a keeper

Funny thing about minivans. By all accounts (I have no first-hand experience) they're great to drive (for their size) and extremely practical, yet people eschew them because, well, you know...
If you look at it dispassionately, though, driving around in a vehicle filled with kids should be all you need to display your virility. After all, those kids didn't make themselves.

Haha. Yes and no. I have a van also.

2 vehicles that fit the whole family. One DD and one weekend toy that don't fit them all.

That's a good point.

I also have young ones; boy 6 yrs and a girl 3 yrs. this (along w having a wife whom I aim to please most times) has influenced my seat choice: sofas. Other than that, the whole clan is on the GT4 bandwagon! My son talks to my SA about things such as PCCB and PTS like a well seasoned porschephile.

Found out yesterday that my car is in production (sans LWBs... bummer). The good news is that it should arrive in time for me to drive it out to Rennsport Reunion. Fingers crossed!!

I am about 2 weeks ahead of you and have the same plan to drive up to Rennsport - problem is my son has a hockey tournament in Vacaville that same weekend and I don't know where we will put his sticks and gear!

Default Now V331

Well just got update from dealer on my car - finished production on 7/1 versus planned 7/3 (which was 2 weeks ahead of original schedule). Unfortunately it sat until 7/9 before it got to port - now it looks like it will sit until 7/24 at the port before it departs. Hope it makes an earlier ship to San Diego. If not still on track for 9/4 dealer delivery - Would be good way to start the Holiday weekend!

I hope yours makes it on the first boat out. Mine has been sitting at the port for 3 weeks and has missed 4 boats to the US.

Just received a schedule update also. Completed last Tuesday (7/7) and entered Emden today. Scheduled to leave the port on 7/24 headed for Davisville. If that schedule stays on track then delivery should be late August.

I'm on the same boat as well. Hope to get it mid August here in Midwest.

Just as an update mine ended up taking less than 2 weeks in production. It went in 7/3 but I don't know when it finished other than that the 2 week mark would be 7/17 and it was already V300 today (7/16). Maybe I can get an updated schedule from the dealer. Got the VIN in hand which is nice.
