I am in S. Cal
6/26 enter body shop
9/4 deliver to dealer
So take arena - RTR's schedule - just under a month in production - so that puts mine at 7/20 - deliver 9/4 - port is San Diego and Car is going to OC,
So 6 weeks!

I have heard of a slow boat to China, but one from Germany ??
So I guess its only 4 weeks to the east coast ?
I would think so, and as such, I didn't think it would take more than a extra week maybe to the left coast?
Weird, I have see builds in the PS&VMS go into the body shop and come out in (1) one week!
It seems its like 2 weeks at each in each port both before and after shipping (4) (That would total 5 at that point ) and 2 weeks on the boat,... so that would add up to 7 weeks ?? ( but that one, was to the east coast, so maybe there is where the extra time comes in ???
WTFK's
All I know is its what keeps me going '
EDIT I missed one week .... It seems it takes a week to get the car from completion at Porsche to the port where it sits for two weeks before shipping .. I guess they have unions there too

I would've thought they'd have a separate shipment went to the East Coast and one that went to the West Coast maybe the volume isn't that great?

Porsche doesn't own the ships. The shipping companies do, and I would imagine they've figured out that it's better for them to have ships with multiple stops in order to make their lines more useful to more clients than have "express" ships that become dramatically less useful due to making fewer stops and therefore risk not being as fully loaded with cargo, only to shave a few days off the total transit time. After all, if you're already waiting a few weeks, what's a few more days? If you get your SA to give you the name of the boat your car is on, you can actually track it the whole way to your port except for a period when it's out in the middle of the Atlantic. If memory serves, the boat that carried my M3 over here stopped at 3 places in Europe, then Halifax, then New York or thereabouts, then finally South Carolina where BMW's prep center is for Texas-bound cars.
