They vary wildly.....from $199 to over $1000. If you can't get them to back it out of the sales price then consider it a cost of doing business but it should be called "additional dealer profit with a fancy term below sales price on buyers order"

OP, is this in addition to the standard $995 freight and setup charged by Porsche? If so, I've never seen that.

no but haven't seen the invoice. I expect to pay msrp plus the delivery fee as with the other cars from my dealer.

Actually they did discount the 991 but I expect to pay msrp for the GT4 as they only got one

When I was shopping for my wife's Mercedes I was with pen six inches from paper when I noticed a $700 undercoating fee. I refused to sign and walked away from the deal (and they let me rather than remove the fee). Of course in the case of an E350 you can just go a few miles down the street and get another one.

Might not have the same choice with the GT4.

I am not interested in any Tesla cars, but it's dealer antics like this where Tesla's sales model makes me think:

it is a last effort grab when all else fails.... It allows the dealer to recover certain "overheads".
They range all over the place....

They will tell you it is to cover their sales commisson or the title leg work, fax machine copies, internet expense etc..

Puzzled why that is not built into the "sale" price already....

So you pay $799 below the price you expect to pay then add the "mandatory" fee to the top.
