I'm going white and it's going to be primarily a track toy... might consider splashing some GT4 decals on if they become available...
I like the GT fender decals

If all goes to plan and I actually get a GT4, it will be Dark Blue Metallic with silver wheels and black wing supports. It would be my DD in addition to track toy, and since I'm a fan of blue cars anyway, I figure DBM will offset the "louder" presence of a GT4, particularly that RS-type spoiler. The black wing supports provide front to back continuity with the black headlamps and also downplay that spoiler somewhat, though if the headlamps had been standard I probably would have kept them silver. Sapphire is just a bit too bright for me now, though if I were ordering 5 years ago, or ordering only as a track toy, it probably would have been my top choice.
I saw DBM in person on a 918 and liked it -- classy, understated, but still a bit special. Definitely not a typical GT color, but I think it will work. What I'd really hoped for was a PTS in BMW's Tanzanite Blue, which is a similar shade but has turquoise metallic fleck to create an incredible effect of keeping the car understated with just enough flair to make you realize that it's something special, but I don't think that will be possible. Even if PTS is offered, I doubt it will be available long enough for Porsche to complete a feasibility study on an entirely new color rather than one in their existing catalog, and I have no idea what that study would cost over and above the regular $5500 PTS charge.

I was fortunate enough to receive a July/August build with an August/September delivery. I ordered Carrera white metallic, silver wheels, color matched interior, red belts, dynamic lights, black wing supports, and after hours of agonizing thought, the 18 way seats.
- Carmine not offered for early builds?
- Carmine doesn't quite "go" with red calipers and guards red stitching? <-- Just putting it out there
- And this link: https://rennlist.com/forums/gt4/8599...-the-wild.html which seems to be Guards Red

I am going Guards Red, but would love to get Carmine red if it was priced as the metallics (Sapphire, Carrera White, Dark Blue, etc.)
Every time a picture of a red or white car appears it spawns a big debate over whether it is CWM vs. White or CR vs. GR. I recognize that photos distort colors but even in person nobody seems to be able to tell the difference unless the two options are sitting side by side. The fact that two enthusiasts looking at the same car can't agree on the difference makes me question paying big $$ for the upgrade...
Valid point! Carmine Red and GT Silver are maybe too similar to Guards red and Rhodium for the up charge. They need something a little crazier for those big up-charged colors.

The difference in $$$ is considerable, though--Carmine is a $2580 option while CWM is only $710.
