which brakes are you guys getting?

Decided on going with PCCB's after being really against it initially. I am planning on only tracking 2-3 times a year and keeping the car until the 991.2 GT3 comes out, so wear shouldn't be a huge issue. The the massive rotors and yellow calipers look amazing, not to mention it will match well with yellow deviated stitching. If I were a track junkie I would get steels.

Yes. All the time. NT01 tires are good all the way down to the cord. Brake pads are good all of the way down to the backing. When you put on a fresh set of tires and pads, the car feels the same! The steering doesn't suddenly go to the crapper and the car doesn't sudden feel bogged down when a new set of tires is mounted. LOL
Honestly, except to the truly expert driver, none of this makes any difference IMO. The argument for the PCCB is brake dust and bling and against is cost. The rest is basically nonsense unless you're an expert racer, IMHO.

Can someone confirm with absolute certainty that the brakes on the GT4 are identical to the 991 GT3? I posted about this in a separate thread.
As mentioned by others earlier in this thread, we have two-piece AP Racing J Hook endurance racing discs and Ferodo Racing brake pads available for the 991 GT3 with iron discs. It seems like the center-lock vs. 5 lug will be an issue with the hats. If someone can put one OEM front and one OEM rear GT4 disc in our hands to borrow and measure, not keep), we can have our two-piece AP Racing discs done before many people in the USA receive their cars.
Thanks gents!

Brake squeal
Sorry for digging up this thread again. But does anyone know if steel/pccb is more prone to squealing noise than the other?
I happened to be in the vicinity of a 991 GT3 with steel brakes recently and the brake squeal was embarrassingly loud. I never had it (yet) on my car (7.2 with pccb), but I don't know if I am just lucky or cause I got the car with 2500 miles, it was past any squealing phase.
ps. yes, I know braking hard few times is supposed to remedy it (at least temporarily).

On the contrary, people are spending money installing titanium shims for shielding the heat from getting into brake fluid.
https://hardbrakes.com/index.php?mai...products_id=30
RB stainless steel pistons can do just that but eliminating the shims.
In our experience, brake squeaking is associated to the brake pad compound, not those dampeners, nor beveling the pad edges.
RB brake pads used in Mercedes SL550
!11 SL550 No more brake squealing!

RB brake pads used in Aston Martin DBS (converting to iron rotor from CCM)
Converted from carbon ceramic to steel rotors. No more squeaking!!!!
We have ET-500 and XT910 compounds for Porsche's that are low dust and no squeaking.
We have the properly formulated street pads for both Iron and CCM rotors with proven result, and they are guaranteed of low dust and no squeaking.
Racing Brake makes me happy

CCM brake has its merit and has become more accepted on both street and track driving.
In particular for GT-R track racing community more and more are in favor of CCM than Iron brakes.
We are shipping 3 CCM brake kits with ST discs, and 2 kits with ZR1 discs all are complete kits including RB calipers.
RB is a full service brake company specialized in building Carbon Ceramic brake kits, and we look forward to serving Porsche track racers.

going with steels for better feel. Useful in a 3 pedal car for heel and toe while on street and even better on track while trail braking......
I would normally go with PCCB and have deliberated at length on this. On a regular GTS, I would to upgrade to 6-pot brakes, on the Gt4 with the same set of Gt3 RS steelies at more than 100 less HP and 100 kg less weight, what the hell for? besides, isn't the Gt4 about value for money?
In the end, you pays your money. value is in the eye of the beholder.

Learn our latest development of sintered brake pad dedicated for CCM rotors to compliment with your pccb.

The consensus seems to be: Get pccb option and enjoy the newest brake technology, then buy iron stock replacement from RB as a back up/spare set. You will have both of them and waste no time to decide.
Even if your pccb rotors need replacement, we have the CCM replacement rotors available, they are more durable than OE and cost only fraction of what Porsche dealers will charge you.
991 PCCB Replacement rotors are finally here
