Allocations?
After being told several times on here "DONT LISTEN TO HIM HES JUST A SALESMAN HYPING UP THE NEW CAR THERE WILL BE PLENTY FOR EVERYONE" I'm not going to say I told you so, but...
I told you so!!While I know how frustrating this is, please keep in mind that this was by design: if Porsche had priced this at $110k like we thought they were going to, it wouldn't be nearly this bad.

I am number 2 right now at my medium sized dealer who have just given away one Q2 slot to the "commoners." They have been pretty honest in terms of MSRP pricing and not giving away wait list spots; however, the limited amounts of this car is starting to hit home. I'll just keep the deposit at the dealer and wait it out.

Take my money Porsche!

This is not fun.

I love smaller cars in general, and the ones I have listed above are definitely larger than the GT4; albeit, the Z06 is very capable.
I am actually #2 right now (I was #3 before the first allocation just went out) and will just give it some patience.
Thanks arena!
At the risk of getting my hopes up again, you feel there is a good chance there will be another group of allocations released in Q1 of 2016? I basically missed out on this years allocation but at the very top of the list for anything in 2016.
I could be wrong, but I don't think so called Q3/Q4 allocations have been released yet (for all the dealers at least) or so I been told. Maybe some one has better information.
Yes, it is my understanding that the 2nd (and final) round of allocations should be given out sometime this summer.
Thank you!
Quoting Porsche Rep to my GM:
"The Cayman GT4 will be allocated separately and dealers will be informed of the full 2015 production which they can expect to earn. The 2nd quarter quota will be provided as allocation buckets, but for 3rd & 4th quarter the dealer will just be told how many units they can expect, but no bucket. This will be a separate allocation communication than the May-Aug, and will come directly from me."
I know a number of forum members have had a wide range of negative issues with their dealers, but I want to say the SA and GM at Porsche Ft Wayne have been a real pleasure to deal with all through this process. I have no doubts that if they finally receive an allocation they will honor the agreement we have that I have the first one.
Are you saying there will be additional allocations for production into calendar year 2016 of model year 2016 GT4s? If so, are these in addition to the Q3 and 4 allocations (mentioned in the email Jenner posted) for GT4s produced through the fall up to Dec. 2015?
Just left my dealer where I'm #2 on the list. I started at #4, but one person dropped off the list and one person got an allocation. They confirmed that they expect to learn of additional allocations for Q4 within the next month.
This is just a theory but after reading all of these tidbits of information from many dealers across the US, I feel that a lot of the confusion comes from communication in two areas. First is how the message of allocation is communicated to dealers from PCNA and the second is how that message is communicated to buyers.
I would guess that PCNA has some kind of regional sales structure. And a manager from PCNA delivers these allocation messages to all of the dealers in their region. It is possible that this message is delivered with different language and at different schedules than others simply based on that manager.
Then the dealer has to work with this message and communicate it (or not) to the potential buyers. Each dealer may choose to share different levels of information. An example could be the helpful post from Jenner. His dealer mentioned that the first allocations would come in two waves. At the same time (over a week ago) my dealer notified me that they received two allocations, one for Q2 and one for Q4 delivery. But the way they described the Q4 allocation they were more general about the delivery date.
It may be that PCNA had all of the allocations worked out through to Q4 over a week ago. Earlier builds could be entered into the system right away but later allocations were guaranteed but could not be ordered. Maybe this is what is meant by “no bucket”. If this is the case some regional managers may not communicate those numbers right away to dealers. Then also, dealers that received the full information right away made their own choice about who to share it with. Maybe some don’t want to notify potential buyers until orders can be placed into the system.
I am just guessing at this theory but it could help to explain why buyers are receiving different information at different rates. On a side note, I also received the same information that more allocations after this first round are coming but they would be for late 2015 early 2016 deliveries. I also support the speculation that these will be communicated by summer.

Those would be the 2nd round of allocations.

I am somewhat challenged with that above dialog

Buckets and the like ?

If you dont want to, I will understand, and go away ...
Thanks in advance
