Haha, I like that. Good points. I'm a "function" kind of Porsche guy but you can't deny the "form" - Spyders look great!

The point is that this top really looks to be automatic. Study the photos, they just look weird to me. Maybe it is not a 987 spyder top but some new trick auto version that looks similar.

Cant wait to see what it ends up being.

You're all idiots ( again) happy?

Love the Spyder patch on the seat, Porsche goes " all out" on their prototypes I see. What would be the point of that?

It looks like an automated top but maybe Porsche made a concerted effort to reduce the weight? Either that or it's a very good photoshop effort and low resolution to conceal th work.

The signature double humps are there and they will look beautiful on the 981.

Does anyone know if the 3.8L weighs more than the 3.4 and if the differential is significant? You would think Porsche would prefer a hopped up 3.4 to keep the weight down but perhaps they are already near the limits of the 3.4 without major changes?

I'm excited to see this.......but I'm still not selling mine.

The seats were likely pulled from the 918 Spyder parts bin, doubt the real car will have the same logo.

Yeah but I'm taking bets that you won't be making your 5th post in 3 years if I am right now will you?

Have to love the trolling though.

The more I see of these pictures the more I think this is some one-off by a tuner or something that will be offering a kit. My dealer still claims to have zero knowledge and has seen the pics and flat out said if they get the same tops then PNA is not listening to their dealers.

1. The seats will have the Spyder logo - because the car is a Spyder.
2. Three UK dealers told me the Spyder is coming in April and I am speaking to one right now who called me last week to see if I still want one.
3. The top is real and Porsche have listened to customers as it does not need the same manual effort as the old one - though I don't know yet if any of it is electric.
4. The red leather is a new option on the Spyder and may be the launch colour.

That's all I know for now folks...

LOL! Really, it will have a Spyder logo because ..."it's a Spyder" that's it?

Then I guess all of us Spyder owners didn't get that memo because all I got was a Porsche Crest.

And the red leather is a new option? funny, I have it on my Spyder...you know the one without the Spyder logo.

Go figure.

Damn, Spyder with no Spyder logo and somehow I got red leather a few years earlier than the 981 Spyder.

Did your dealer give you all of the info above or just some of it? To be honest I'm surprised Porsche would even entertain a Spyder in the UK considering how much flack it received from the media and initial owners. The initial response was so harsh the prices dropped dramatically initially. Fortunately the cars landed in the hands of enthusiasts and prices have since gone back up in the UK.
