Test drove a GT4 - strange noise
Just test drove a 2016 GT4 6MT. About halfway through the drive I started to notice a noise/sound that didn’t seem normal but was there the whole time.
it sounded almost mechanical - almost electric. Like a blender on a really slow speed or a beehive. The noise stayed when I came off the throttle but seemed to go away when I was on the brakes.
sound came from seemed like behind the passenger. Was there with both exhaust modes.
any idea what this might be? Normal or problem?
my 993 has a lightweight flywheel, it didn’t sound as mechanical that.
I made a recording. I’ll try to upload it. It’s hard to hear the noise on a phone speaker but you can hear it much more identifiably on a car stereo, etc.

Everything is more noisy on a GT4 ! So I have a bit of diff whine, you hear sucking when hard on the throttle; the last poster def has identified an issue but that is more of a high pitch whistle.

I'm currently looking for possibly a 991 GT3 or 781 GT4 and test drove both last week. The GT3 sounded like there was gravel inside the gearbox along with a bunch of other odd sounds. I then got into a beautiful blue 781 GT4 and it sounded so much better to me.
