Replace Passenger LWB with 18-way?

This is possible. I had a 14 way put in the passenger side of my 981 for my wife who similarly was not a fan of buckets. Wiring hooks up no problem as described by others, but the seat needs to be coded with a PIWIS (should be under Drive Links) or other comparable scanner to set the airbags.

AFAIK it's essentially for the thorax airbags. Don't know anything beyond that, other than if it's not coded you run the risk of an airbag light / airbags not deploying properly. Best to consult with a shop.

So I got a nice pair of 18-way adjustable seats, removed the passenger side LWB, installed the 18-way, and attached the connector, but nothing happened. It's not throwing any codes.
The seat adjustor on the driver LWB works fine. Any thoughts on what to do next? Thanks

First thing to do…. Check the pins on the seat connector to make sure they’re all straight.
if they look good, then you want to take a 12v battery or a 12v power supply and connect to the power pins on the seat. At this point you can move the seat motors etc to make sure the seat works properly.
If you don’t know which pins are which I can check through my pics to see if I took any.
(figured I’d reply here, saw your PM)

You don’t necessarily need to slide the black and gray connectors out of the yellow housing probably. I did that just for easier access.
The heavy gauge red wire should be 12V power in to the car. If I remember correctly the heavy gauge brown is ground. I would verify this by metering the car connector side. Make sure to be super careful not to short anything.
if you’re not comfortable using a multi meter I might suggest having your shop do this.
I simply created connected a small SLA battery (12v home alarm battery or similar) to the seat power input and ground then moved the seat motors around to make sure everything worked.
Once you’ve done this you know the seats are fine.
At this point try connecting the seat to the car harness again and see what happens.

I would also suggest trying the seat angle mod first- I did it first on my seat and liked it so I did it to the passenger seat as well. Luckily my wife tolerated the seats for a week long road trip and rally in the Rockies a few years ago, and especially appreciated me moving the fire extinguisher because that bugged her more than the seat itself.
