It’s only been with me a few days, but I’m lovin’ the upgrade over my 987.2.
My only beef is with the PCM. I had recently replaced the CDR30 head unit in my 987 Spyder with an Alpine unit and miss having Apple CarPlay in my 981. I’ve seen the threads about using the adapter with the existing PCM, but has anyone successfully replaced the factory head unit with an aftermarket unit? Opinions and/or thread referrals are appreciated.
Congrats Dave! I know guys that have done the CarPlay module in their PCM and have been happy, that's the direction I'd go because I prefer the look of the stock Porsche head units.
Welcome to the group. I had a local stereo shop add carplay to mine and it works flawlessly and works like the factory carplay in my Carrera T coupe which it obviously came with. Sorry that I have no idea what brand it is though...
Yes, carplay is addicting- SO glad to be done with satellite radio!!!!!!
