GT4 Market & Prices?

GT4 Market & Prices?
Hello All! I have been a long time viewer, but recently joined as im starting to look at buying a 981 GT4. I have been reading other threads about what to look for when buying, options wise. I did want some opinions on what everyone thinks about the current prices of the 981s. Obviously they are higher than they were in the past, do we think that's just the post covid prices from now on? Is it because the current GT4 is being discontinued? I have some time, probably 3-5 months to look. But more curious on if there are still good "deals" to be had! Market seems odd, trying to make sense of it.
Thanks for your time. Really excited to hopefully be part of this community soon!

Find a car with good history, DME you are comfortable with, and the options/colors you like and just buy. These cars are never going to seriously depreciate, and if they do everything else has as well. The market is so limited that it's difficult to really say where prices should be. Get the car you're happy with and forget about it. It won't be a bad decision financially vs any other car.

What are some options you think are worth it on the GT4? I have read the LWB, CCB, etc are all great to have. Any input!
Appreciate your time.

That makes sense. Appreciate your input. That was my thought as well, feel like it shouldn't be too bad, and if it is..everything is haha. Also looking at the 4S as well. But something about the GT4!

If you plan to track it (even a little) PCCBs would not be high on the list as they are very pricey to replace. They are awesome for street only driving though. Same with seats, Lwbs are great for the track, not so much for street only driving. No other options matter imho except colors (personal choice). Good luck with your search. The GT4 is a special car.

ok, great. Thank you for your input. Yea I am on the fence about the LWB. They look great, going to sit in some soon!
don’t plan to track, so would be open to the PCCB.
thank you!

Bought mine end of last year for 85k. Decent DME report (one 4 and a couple 3s), 20k miles, buckets steels Carrara White.
You shouldn't delay, values today will seem low 2 years from now.
I think these have higher upside than 718 because they're much more of a raw driving experience and there are far fewer produced.
Having the first GT4 will be special, I wouldn't be surprised if these reach $250k in 8-10 years.
People who think that's crazy aren't considering the profound impact EV will have on the gasoline market.

My timeline is about 3-4 months. hopefully it doesn't change drastically in then. And yea that is one of the reasons I am interested in that gen, the rawness that is!
Thanks for the input!

OK, you threw me for a loop there, because they did not make any all-wheel-drive Caymans. So there is no 9814S. That’s why I thought you were cross shopping the 911 4S versus the Cayman GT4. if you want to stay with the 981 Cayman platform, then I would shop the GTS versus the GT4. And then, I would consider things like, do you want a PDK transmission or manual, are you going to track the car, do you plan to take road trips in the car, etc. I got the GT4 primarily as a track car, and it is absolutely perfect for that (except for the frustratingly long third gear), but on long highway cruises, the GT4 is not as great. The steering ratio is very close, which makes it twitchy on the interstate and I find the blindspots are a little bit bigger in my car with the lightweight bucket seats (harder to rotate and see out of) and the rear wing impacts rear view visibility… and there is no rear camera like other Caymans. If I wanted a Cayman to use as a daily street driver, I’d check out the GTS model instead, maybe with a PDK. Just my thoughts.

Ah, my apologies! I have the 2016 GT4 as my primary target. I mentioned the Carrera 4S only because I saw some videos on of a '20 4S lately and it looks amazing. However, the GT4 is still my primary target.
Thanks for the input. The longer 3rd gear is such a common complaint I have found, and appriecte the other character traits of the car. Will take a look at some GTS's as well!
Thanks again
