I have a near to mint 2016 GT4 with roughly 12300 miles with 18-way power seats i am planning on take to Carmax next couple of days and most likely offer the car to them. No accident on Carfax Full interior carbon and full leather no PCCB. Tires are near to new. Car never been on track other than 1 event at Sonoma with an instructor. Please send contact info and contact number and Any interest party with cash in hand and ready to buy and no drama. My guess is the car will be unload to Carmax around $90-95k range.

 

Did CarMax suggest they will go to that price?

My guess would be 75-80k if they even give you an offer(general market is not clear at the moment). Porsche dealer may actually be a better spot since they can turn around and sell CPO meaning potentially more money to you. GT4 is unlikely to hit the CarMax lot since it's a bit much for it's target audience, meaning auction and a lower offer.

If you just need the cash post it for 90k on all the main sites and FB. It will go quickly at that price as long as there's nothing fishy going on...

^^^^^ Like I said the car would go to Carmax if no quick inquiries here. My GT4 was sold today and now at Carmax.Some of us rather take less $$ and not deal with the games and drama.

yes as a GT4 owner with very similar miles who is looking to get rid of his car in a low friction transaction it is an important data point for me and I'm sure others as well

 

It's not going to be a good number, if he responds truthfully. My 75-80k guess is likely upper end. Trade ins with tax savings depending on state can make the number better.

If you want low friction and are willing to be patient, find a dealer who will do consignment/auction it for a fee.

Otherwise IMO a dealer who can CPO it will probably give you the best offer.

CarMax is for a car that just got range 4+ overevved or has something looming.

 

Understood and that all depend on the seller. Some of us do not care $$. If I offer a quick sale here and mention a dealer trade or wholesale and still get bogus PM inquiries and asking your bottom this and that and inspection this and that....Million dollar question is why the heck would I entertain drama vs a dealer will not ask a single question and simply write the seller a check no question ask. Sure the numbers are lower than on a private sale. I chose to move on and enjoy my other GT3 I just bought. Currency comes and goes and we can always remake $$. Drama is something I will not deal with.

 

Would be happy to post check with date and vin## if there are more doubts. Car sold to Carmax Pleasanton CA. Call them up in a week and inquire. Sold amount, fast forward 10-20 years later we will not even think of what we sold our last car for. In my opinion sold dollar amount could be 10k 20k 30k below market-who cares and will not change my life.

 

FWIW, I've been getting heat checks every 6 months or so in my 3.5 years of ownership (never sure I was going to keep it). Mine is an Agate $108k build, PCCBs and sofas, 30k miles when I bought in Aug. '19, currently at 47k. Car shows slight signs of wear, but not worn out. I've been offered anywhere from $65k - $82k ($82k last spring) from various dealers in the DC area...$69k last fall from dealer where I purchased, no other purchase history with them, but buddy from another job was an SA there when I bought it (no longer). That said, my headlights were horrendous with "crazing", with that offer, and since corrected. Historically, I have been offered ~$3k less than comparable builds due to my "mileage", based on Mannheim numbers.

 

^^^^ everyone of us are different and think differently and car value is all in our mind and it shouldn't be. If we can afford a 100k plus car then a few dollars here and there shouldn't put a dent in our finances. I just dropped over $280k on a GT3 in cash and paid way over sticker. Some of us may say hell no I would not do it and other say who gives a rat just buy and enjoy. If we buy a car to enjoy then money should not be an issue as long as you can afford and live within your mean. That is my take and my opinion alone.

Tires wear and tear not the same
color is different
Car options not the same
No difference to every PPI is not the same depend on who is doing the PPI.
person who did the evaluation on the car may not be the same person who evaluate the next gt4
Book value and mkt values changes by week
