I set my personal best laptime at COTA with DS3.12.
I ran stock before, it was good but DS3.12 is more consistent when very hot after 9 laps.

 

I went from Pagid Yellows on my old Cayman S to DS3 on my GT4. Different cars, but love the Ferrodos and they seem to be the go-to track pad for most GT4 owners (and recommend by my respected local shop). I think the instructor may have felt something off (in need of a bleed maybe?) or different but I certainly don’t think you can blame the brand and model of the brake pad.

 

Can anybody recommend a decent pad for street and some track that has low dust output? The dust is absolutely killing me right now. Cleaning FI-Rs after every spirited drive is getting old, fast. Not trying to set any lap records, just looking for a decent pad that doesn't paint my silver wheels gunmetal after an hour of driving!

For what it's worth (FWIW), I changed out the Porsche disk and rotor with a slotted rotor, sorry I don't remember the brand, and Pagid Orange pads. On track there was a SIGNIFICANT improvement in braking performance. I was very pleased. However, after leaving the track, after a day or so of street driving the Pagids became VERY noisy. When braking the noise attracted a lot of attention! I am not sure if it is the same with the Pagid Yellows.

 

Ceramic coat your wheels and the dust will wash right off.

 

Track pads are all about your personal preference and driving style. I personally like a low initial bite, not so aggressive pad, as the less aggressive the pad the easier it is to modulate the brake pressure, which helps you keep the chassis balanced when your at the limit. So the concept of needing more pedal force is related to using a less aggressive pad, and much more modulation, on and coming off the brake.

 

I like the consistency and pedal feel of the DS3.12 but it is also true that it’s easy to get into ABS with these pads and so I agree ut is harder to modulate. I find myself trail braking less with these pads but it may be a matter of acclimating.

 

Have been using OEM for the track. Ordered Pagid yellow, but have not put them on yet. Got them from FCP Euro.
