Default Steaming

Due to the weather I haven't been able to really wind out my Gt4 for several weeks until yesterday when I gave her the beans, 7000 RPM, on
three different occasions, spread out over half an hour. Each time so much steam came out of the hood vent that the windshield
fogged up and I couldn't see out of it. When I wasn't accelerating hard there was no noticeable steam. Temperatures were normal. Today I drove the car the same way but thankfully there was
no sign of steam. Any thoughts.

What you mean steam? And which side did come out inside the car from the defroster duct or outside from the cowl panel?

By steam I mean the kind of of steam a steam kettle produces and it was coming from the long, narrow, slightly curved vent located just below where the frunk latch is located.
It sounds bizarre and believe me, it was when it happened. The car was washed the day before and then put back in the garage and I did mop up water under the frunk lid which
in the past has blown out of the same vent under moderate acceleration but what I was referring to in my original post was billowing steam coming out of the same vent and only
under hard acceleration and high revs. Thanks for any thoughts as to what the cause may be.

This should be fine although it did shock me when it first happened to me. Water runs down through the vent in front of the front lid - I don't know where it gets trapped - and when the radiators are hot and the fans run (in particular) steam !

I am original orwner of a 981 Spyder and your story rings a bell in that I remember this happening some time ago. It was perplexing but never happened again since.

It's from water hitting the radiator and steaming, fully normal.

Default steaming

Thanks very much for all your comments. It was rather disconcerting to see clouds of steam pouring out of
the vent and I'm happy to hear it's not an issue. Thanks again for your collective input and I will sleep well tonight.
