Singular Ignition Range 3, 4, 5 DME Report
I wanted to start this thread to open up discussion on my DME report for any potential buyers of my GT4 so the for sale thread doesn't go way off track. The dealer didn't understand how it happened at 0 hours.
If anyone is knowledgeable on this I'll take anything I can get.

From what I know about DME reports, you can’t have a single over rev that is actually valid in a range. You can ignore it. Your DME report looks fine.
Also, you wouldn’t have the same number in multiple ranges because it needs to pass through the 2 and 1 on the way down from 3, for instance.
I recommend this video to anyone looking to learn more about DME reports.

The car probably stalled... We figured it out with mine... I have range 4 with no range 3... And working the hours out it happened to me a couple years ago during winter when i was moving the car around.

Has anyone actually ever heard of a buyer having an engine issue after buying a Porsche with overrevs? It seems to be a Porsche-specific phenomenon/paranoia... BMW, Audi, Aston Martin, etc. buyers have never argued over overrevs... the motor either blew up after the overrev or it didn't

In my old 996.1 GT3 (not sold in the US), I increased the rev limiter from 7800 to 8500. Over the 7-8 years I had it, the overrevs filled the memory. The car was super strong up until I sold it on consignment after it had a full compression and leakdown test. The car sold in 4 hours about 3 years ago and it's still running strong with probably 100,000 kms on the engine.
