And I hate to pile on, KOTYKB, with the aesthetics comments. The C8 is a remarkable package for the moolah, no doubt about it. It’s a remarkable car at any price, from what I can tell. But this picture does a great job of illustrating, in a way that words or verbal analysis simply can’t, the relative awkwardness of the C8 design compared to the sublimity of the GT4. In fact, my brother just bought one of the last C7 Manuals he could find in the country (Torch Red) for that reason (his track days are over and the 7 has all the performance he’ll ever need, along with a bit more practicality.)
To be fair, Porsche’s first two iterations of modern mid-engine design (986, 987) had more awkward angles than beautiful ones (and I owned them anyway). It wasn’t till the 981, 14 years into it, that the design became stunningly beautiful. No doubt the C9 (as well as the wide-body 8) will move the ball in a more pleasing direction, just as each front-engine design over the last 23 years (C5/6/7) did. (By which I mean within the context of its own time, i.e., I judged the C5 to be a heavy-assed mess when it was current, the C6 to be an improvement in every way, and the C7 to be about the best they could hope to do with that platform.)

Very entertaining thread, thought I’d keep it alive. At first glance of the TS pics, I was like wow, I really like the new Vette. Then I read all the comments and kept looking at the pics and realized I have a great car already. I don’t need or want a C8, Z06 or otherwise. And since I don’t have more money than sense (English words are so interesting), I can rest. Rest well I might add. The Vette looks gawdy and pimpy to me now. And the rearview mirror view has to be terrible. Porsche, there is, wasn’t, and never will be a substitute.

I have the same car on order. It was supposed to be built the last week of March. With the shut down probably won't get it until July. LT two Z 51 Gt2 seats Mag ride blade silver 77k .I'll probably keep them both for a while. The only thing I have mixed emotions about is the size of the car . I think it'll definitely be more user-friendly than the GT four as a driver. Carl

MagRide is 10x what PASM is. The way you can be in Touring mode and it rides like a Cadillac, then in Track mode it's almost as firm as my GT4 with PASM on. It's honestly incredible and I'm super impressed with it. I had no intentions of loving the C8, once I broke it in, I called my dealer and said to sign me up for their first Z06 allocation, I'm that impressed with the Stingray model.
