The 981 GT4 that raises the bar!

I roll raced my 991.2 MT GT3 against this car from thrid gear. The GT4 jumps out at first but the GT3 at 5K pulls it back in and grabs half a car by the time it needs to shift. The GT4 is definitely straight line quick now by these standards.

What are you running for headers and exhaust?

What about lap time wise? I would think the GT4 would be quicker with all those mods.

I have no comparison lap times at this point.

Ohh Man...thank God I have 3000 miles of ocean between me and BGB,,,as always superb build.
Really interesting head work. Did you go for lighter and/or bigger valves on the X51 heads? Cams are X51 or something else is now available?
Pretty sure you will have a blast with his beast....enjoy!

Now that i have overlaid the dyno charts i am confident that if we could spin the motor that high we could equal or surpass it. The problem is that we don't even have the ECU architecture to do it. We would have to physically remove the rev limiter and i don't have the cojones to do that!

Yes it's real and no I did not. I believe this issue is a bit over played.

Ah, you need race headers and a race/GT3 exhaust, really makes a difference for the mid range and too end! On my 4l x51 with race headers even just changing exhausts makes a seat of the pants difference.

John..... you are not helping ......I have to start all over again with the 718 GT4!
The 981 GT4 is gone in July, maybe I can convince the owner to send you the car.

Little update. I have since upgraded suspension to the JRZ RS Pro 2 ways (672lb front spring, 840lb rear springs) and also changed headers to cargraphic race headers and race exhaust.
Season is over for now. Off to next year.
Couple shots from Road America and M1 in Detroit below.
Lap time at Road America on 285 Rear / 255 Front RE71R was 2:27.771
VIDEO of it screaming down into turn 5 ->
