Default Track Attack supports Track Precision App

Do you use the Porsche Track Precision App for track data on your GT4? There's good news: the Track Attack analysis software now supports the Track Precision App.

Track Attack (trackattack.io) is software that runs on a Mac or PC that allows you to display and analyze data from almost any data acquisition device. It also saves your session files to a cloud account, and allows you to share sessions (if you choose) with other users. AND you can get a free account (or pay if you want to save a lot of sessions). If you and your friends have Track Attack accounts you can share and compare data, even if you are all using different data acquisition devices (PTPA, TraqMate, AiM, Harry's Laptimer, etc.). Also, Track Attack can automatically sync your data to video from *any* video source, and display sim-racing data as well.

As of 3/14/19, Track Attack (v114 and higher) can import the .vbo files generated by PTPA. Many thanks to Track Attack guru Gama Aguiler-Gamez for accommodating the GT3/GT4 Porsche crowd.

Here's a quick summary of what to do:
  1. From the PTPA home screen on your phone, tap Records. This takes you to the Records Management screen, where you will see a list of all sessions stored on your phone.
  2. Select the session(s) you want to export, so that a check mark shows next to each session. You can export a single session or multiple sessions at once.
  3. Tap Export, and in the pop-up menu tap Export Data.
  4. In the window that pops up, check Circuit Tools (.vbo), then tap the big check mark. This will start the creation of the .vbo file(s), which will take a few seconds.
  5. When the files are ready, an iPhone "how do you want to send this" window will pop up. You can tap the e-mail icon and e-mail the file to yourself as an attachment. Alternately, if you have a late-model Mac, you can use AirDrop to send the file directly to your computer. In that case, tap AirDrop, tap the icon for your Mac when it appears, and the file will be transferred. Either way, each file will have a name like recording-2018-09-10-01-01-40.0001.vbo.
  6. On your Mac or PC, move the file(s) to some a convenient folder. (It's good to have a plan for keeping these organized). If you used AirDrop, the file(s) will be in the Downloads folder on your Mac.
  7. Start the Track Attack app on your Mac or PC. (Remember, you can get this for free at trackattack.io).
  8. Click the green Import button (top left). This will open the usual file-finding window.
  9. Navigate to your data file, select it, and click Open. (You can also select and import multiple sessions at once).
  10. Track Attack will show you an Import Window with some file info, including the time for every lap in the session. Edit or fill in any of the information (session name, car, driver, notes, . . .), then click Import Session. Track Attack will import your session and display the data. It will also sync that session to your cloud account at Track Attack, so that you can look at it later from any device that has the Track Attack app.
That's it. Enjoy looking through your data, and using it to get even faster!
