Intake manifold from 718 GT4 CS to 981 GT4
I would like to know the motor difference between the new 718 CS and the old 981 because it's the same motor/block.
As I've read that the intake manifold and TB are different.
Any idea if possible to plug in this new intake on the 981?
Is there also the intake cams or same as 981?
Thanks

From my understanding it's the intake system and the cams....but the exhaust was also reworked.
BGB or RS1 should be able to provide some info here as they have acess to the new CS and the related manuals and parts documents.

Bore and stroke is also different between both engines. #s have been posted.

The difference in power is minor. If you put on headers and Cobb tune you are so close that unless you are racing, it doesn't matter. For me, losing 40 pounds is about my best bet for making mine go much faster at this point.

Thanks for the answers!
Last year, I would like to put Cargraphic sport headers w/ Cobb Tune but I was disappointed by the feedback quality of the catalytic….
As I've heard, it's poor quality and there is risk of broke.
W/ the IPD+TB, there is poor gain... It's why I'm looking at the new set-up of the 718 CS.
So, maybe the full intake manifold w/ TB (frome the 718CS) + Cobb Tune will be a good alternative if it's fit the 981....?

I have the Dundon headers and Cobb tune and difference in power is noticeable and changes the car for the better. Based on their dyno chart HP is ~439 with a significant increase in mid-range torque. I am sure the newer car is very nice, but I think a 981 GT4 with some modest improvements will not be that far behind.
I also was able to reduce weight by installing a lightweight battery and reduce the rotational mass with E88 wheels. The performance increase is well worth these upgrades.

It's helpful to update your Location, where are you located?
In the US, unless it includes a visual inspection, emissions testing just consists of reading fault codes through the ODB2 port.
The Dundon race headers don't throw codes unless there is a gasket leak.

Here, the test consists firstly in measuring emissions form exhaust and after with reading fault codes through the OBD2.
So, you need the catalytic (minimum 200cc) to success the technical control.

You have no option then....I would go for the Cargraphics modular headers. Those you can take out the cat and replace it with a test pipe.

This has the advantage of long tube headers.

The Dundon would definitely provide the most power output but the above has to be considered due to his testing procedure.

I prefer the Cargraphic solution because you don't have to charge 2.800 $ more for the muffler with cats 200cc…
But, indeed, you have less power than with the race…. Hum.

That's true...but then you also have to change the exhaust system.....and we are assuming that placing the cats farther apart will bring them up to temps enough to pass emissions...on the OP they do the sniffer test not like in some areas were they only do visual and/or OBD.
