You're insights are hillarious and don't add up to much of anything as far as I'm concerned. Whether they be about how new of a member I am, or how some dealer has full transparency, or how people should approach their dealer for allocation, you are funny, like it or not.

Cheers

I don't like it. I find my insights to be helpful and of value.

I wonder what the pitch would have been if the old 981 was a 350hp 2.5 4cyl turbo being replaced by a new 718 with a 400hp 3.8 6cyl high-revving N/A.

If the 981 was a 4pot turbo, sales would have been so bad that they wouldn’t even make a 718 Spyder...

Geez you guys. I had. 3.4 liter GTS. Great car. I have a GT4. Also a great car. I've driven a 2.5 liter turbo cayman and 3 liter turbo 911 at Barber. Both also great cars. All great cars, for different reasons. Decide what you want and buy it but please quite whining. This is getting boring.

Thank you! Wholeheartedly agree, but the thread title is obviously intended to be provocative, and from a person who works in a dealership selling the 718 Cayman S. That I find to be pretty weak.

The harsh reality is selling 718s is like selling heart disease ... It's actually a very nice car I've driven all vaitations 6 sp & PDK. Quick and ninble but they don't sell at least not around here .Yesterday my dealer gave me a 718 GTS PDK boxster for the afternoon it was 97k , maybe that's why...My first gt4 was 91 my current one was 95..Carl

I agree. I think sales figures significantly reflect the price. You can't easily sell less cylinders in the US for more money, new generation or not.

tell Toyota, Honda, BMW and Audi that. I do agree that four cylinders and sports cars are hard sells.

Today I drove the 991.2 CS and the 718 GTS on the track and I actually preferred the 718. More tossable and easier to control, less likely to step out and not control it. Sound with sports exhaust on was OK, but at least louder then my Targa GTS in the cabin. I did not notice I was driving a 4 pot.

Does Toyota sell a $90,000 4-cylinder car?

As a new 911 owner myself, I would agree with your statement on the Cayman S being the preferable platform on track. Which track were you driving and how did you feel about the low-end torque the car had?
