Question: does the header make the car noticeably louder if you stay with OEM PSE? I love the sound levels, both putting around and under WOT, as they are right now. Don't want something I'm embarrassed by on the street. Thanks,
I have fabspeed sport headers and OEM exhaust. With valves closed it is not noticeably louder - especially around the city. I always drive with valves open except for possibly in the neighborhood (speed limit is 25 there so could probably go with straight pipes and not be noticed)
If noise is a concern then get the Carnewal PSE remote control and wire the solenoid to 12V power. At a push of a button on the remote (or on the garage door opener, which is how I have mine setup) you will have either constant closed (almost as quiet as stock) or constant open (screamer with race cats).
Thanks for the options gents
Currently have a full IPE race exhaust system and changed from OEM wheel set,
I have found that within the UK Porsche mods are very limited but very expensive,
Had a Bmw M4 before my GT4, Mods and power ups were main stream because of twin turbo engine set up,
I fully understand that i am a newbie to the GT4 scene, But wanting ££ outlay for power gains with GT4 engine.
Best thing I've found is a set of Dundon headers and their tune.
+1
They also will sell you a catted version I believe as well. I almost bought a set off a forum member here, but backed out because I was told the exhaust smell would be noticeable with the top down. After debating it back and forth, Dundon said we could add cats worst case. So I bought direct from them -- should have my set next week, along with the cobb tune. As far as power, I think they're right around 438 horse on 91. Not bad, and 321 stainless! The stock PSE is def. too quiet for me. I believe they are working on their own center conversion, along with an intake manifold for more power down the road as well. I will probably buy those... I guess the throttle body/plenum doesn't really add much (any) power for these cars if you already have headers.

Kindest Regards to all and there Input
M4 power is not usable IMO. At least, that was my experience. I would consider one again for daily duty, but man that thing could not put power down to save it's life. Still liked the car though.
The only thing I would change on my 981 Spyder would be an axle lift. I hate having to stress about pulling in/out of places, driveways, etc. There's after market solutions (I believe from TechArt), but they're 2.5-3x the cost of OEM (which was not offered).

Agree with you 100% GT4 has a nose like pinocchio, Speed bumps are a nightmare.... Drive slow.. Turn tunes off ... Listen for the scrape from front lip spoiler
GT3RS is an awesome looking car
But UK prices for approved used is £50/60k over list
Porsche cars are selling at a serious premium in the UK at the moment

Yep!!! I haven't actually scraped it yet, but I have been so extremely careful it's ridiculous. Good thing the bottom chin spoiler is cheap to replace worst case =)
M4 will always be cheaper to mod than a Porsche naturally aspirated motor. You will spend big money for relatively small gains. That is the nature of the beast. I did some back of the napkin maths and for header and a tune and I will be spending what 5 grand easy for my Spyder. I am not even talking about plenum and throttle body. Frankly I don't think they do anything to gain any power. At least I am not convinced. So headers and tune seem to be the best way to go.

My understanding is you will not gain any power (actually may lose some in certain parts of the power band) adding plenum/tb if you are adding Dundon race headers and tune. Exhaust setup for M4 was more expensive than my Spyder, and of lower quality.
But yes, adding lbs of torque and more hp is cheaper per unit for the M.
