718 GT4?

Race Car
I am operating on the assumption that 981 GT4s will continue to drop. GT4 prices have come back to Earth, probably due to a couple forces at work but I think in large part due to this anticipation of the new GT4. Porsche spokespeople have been adamant about continuing to offer manuals in a subset of driver focused cars. Not to derail this thread too much, but I just don't see why the GT4 should be a collector car (yet). Its production numbers are fairly high and its historical importance seems fairly low. That's not to say it isn't an amazing driver's car - it is. This whole concept of new Porsche collectible cars is frankly getting a bit ridiculous. It's synthetic scarcity. It's why you see like 50 GT4s for sale at any time (and it's why you can always buy a GT3RS for a premium if you're a sucker or impatient or both). The typical GT4 buyer will probably just continue to upgrade to newer / better. Until they radically change this platform (for the "worse") then these prices should follow fairly typical quality sports car depreciation curves. The main argument for this car trading at a premium was it's done - no more - never again. Now that that's no longer true, I find it quite difficult to make a good argument for the car to remain at any premium. Hopefully, none of this matters to the people on this board as I hope you're in the car for its value to you and not its value in the market. Just my 2 cents.
No one that I know of ever bought this car (GT4) because they thought it would be a "collectible".
They bought it to drive on the road . . . and at the track, at much lower expense than what it costs to maintain a GT3.
As for "historical" importance... I never thought that my air-cooled 964 would ever be worth anything given that it was practically a "lemon".
63,000 vehicles later...… we are now watching people pay more for them used, than what they cost new 28 years ago.
Perhaps the same thing will happen years from now for the GT4 when everything Porsche makes is PDK, looks like it was designed for the Asian market in mind, and is turbo or electric.
NA motors are a dying breed.
But do I see anyone on Rennlist "crying and whining" about GT4's having depreciated like just about any other sports car?
No, I don't.

I personally do not worry too much about appreciation/depreciation but definitely do think that a few years from now, a NA car with a manual transmission will be extremely rare.
However, looking at how folks I work with rave about Teslas and how pretty much every intern we get wants to get a Tesla in the future, I seriously think about whether or not these will be in demand a few years from now.
I do sometimes worry about what cars I can buy new in 10-15 years time.

I wouldn't worry too much they'll be pumping them out as per 991 GT cars - in my local market there are 70 used GT cars on offer (991 GT3 and RS plus 18 GT4s). This is in a small market which takes in around 400 911s and 800 Cayman/Boxster pa.

Coxster
Older-aged men unable to afford a true exotic, buying into the Sub-$10,000 Porsche Boxster.
Often divorced and trying to have stable relationships, this great insecurity causes delusion. They will tell you their Boxster is a Carrera GT.

He's a Coxster, he thinks you're impressed with his dropped top and 0-60 time slower than a Hyundai Genesis.#boxster

Lol changed the original post - I have always used the term as the reductionist form of Cayman and Boxster 👍😀

I am lucky, i have deposits at 2 so far. One took one 7 months ago (they have a high end list). No promises for anything other than I am on a list to see what happens.

Don't look at the pictures. Article briefly mentions GT4 in brackets. Does that qualify?
