Did anyone get this done in the end and able to share their experiences with the new FD installed?

I was going to get this done but I went with shorter 1st-4th guards gears, second tops off at 69mph it’s absolutely incredible

Doing actual gears is more reliable than ring and pinion especially in cars with upgraded power

please provide some details on what you did, who did it, how much it cost you, and how great it is!

I bought the gears through BGB, shipped my transmission down to BGB, cost was around $8000 total including lightweight Aasco flywheel and sachs clutch, freight charges

I’ve had the car for 5 years 35k miles so I figured spending $8000 for a brand new car is cheaper than getting a GT3

I drive this car 99% to Whole Foods and the shorter gears are transformative, worth every single penny

Awesome that they were able to do 1st gear as well and thanks for sharing the information.

Do you know the VMAX 1st, 2nd 3rd?
Any excessive noise with the lightweight flywheel?

Thanks
-John

1st 47mph, 2nd 69mph, 3rd 100mph

I was really concerned about the noise of a lightened flywheel but after I got it done, it is barely noticeable. It is a little louder when you are out of gear but it sounds mechanical and natural

Thanks again.
Are the gears supplied by Guards Transmission to BGB?
