Default Tire fitment question

Hi, I have a 2020 718 CS. I've been running Pirelli scrubs from my race shop, and haven't been too happy with them -- they heat cycle out and cord prematurely for economical track day use -- and I'm now exploring alternative 100 or 200 TW street tires. (I've used Hoosier R7s on other cars, and like them, but the prices have skyrocketed.)

So here's my fitment question: will a 305mm tire fit in the rear -- no chassis or fender interference? The specific tire combo I'm considering is a Nitto NT01 in a 265/40/18 front and a 305/35/18 rear. (Diameters 26.3" and 26.4" respectively.)

Thanks, Andy

Default fitment

Can't remember which thread, but there's one on rennlist with lots of discussions, street tires vs slicks, containing many specific recommendations.
Could you measure your Pirellis, get something close?

Bridgestone RE71-RS works well. I do 1:34s at Barber and a 2:04 at VIR.

To be honest Andy, the entire tyre thing should be calculations, measurements, fitment and trial. I'm confused about the current tyres I am running on my 2020 Clubsport Comp. Here is why. Porsche developed and tested our cars with Michelin tyres as specifiedl; Fronts 25 / 64 -18 & Rears 27 /68 -18. When I bought my car the Hankook Slicks up front are 250 /640R 18 (makes sense. good match right) and the rears a 300 / 680R 18 (does not make sense?) The section width is 331 not 300 but the overall diameter is 675 which is close. I am thinking purely out loud here, the Hankook tyre should be a 280 / 680R 18. The section width is 306 (closer to spec) and the overall diameter is 680. So, why is this? Run a wider tyre if you can get away with it. Trial and tested. Back to your question. I would think the a front diameter of 26.3 as you indicate would be to tall of a tyre for the front, but the rear probably would fit nicely.

Hankkok Specs - 250/640R - 18 Overall diameter is 25.1 IN, 300/680R 18 - Overall diameter is 26.6 Note: 280/680R 18 - Overall diameter is 26.8
