We run the same alignment for slicks and the two street tires I listed and the tires wear just fine. I ran the RE71s down till no tread was left. Did they drop off in grip? Sure, but I enjoyed the cost savings, and they were still fine for DE and drive improvement laps. The 295 street tires are shorter so you will have a lower rake in the rear but if you are already going to street tires, that change is minor compared to the tire type change. The tires below ran the same alignment as the CS shipped with for slicks.

That's a pretty good wear pattern on those RE71s. What alignment settings are you using?

Ran hoosiers on my 981CS a few test days - no issues whatsoever (other than being slow...)

Technical Manual guidance on size:
  • Front tires: 2000mm circumference with a 1888-2120mm allowed range. This equates to a 59.84cm/23.55in to 67.48cm/26.56in diameter.
  • Rear tires: 2130 circumference with a 2000-2250mm allowed range. This equates to a 63.62cm/25.06in to 71.61/28.19in diameter
  • Front/Rear allowed ratio variation is 0.89/1.00 to 1.00/1.00
Here is a table I put together on tire options for the 981 CS that fit in the above range.

^ for Hankook F-200, the most common sizes are 250/640/18 and 300/680/18. Or you can go down to 240/640/18 and 280/680/18.

Question Continental Extreme Contact Force

I'm running the Hankook C52 250/640 and 300/680. Does anyone have the comparable size for the Continental Extreme Contact Force close to the Hankook rolling circumference (2001mm/2120mm)?
