Michelin Slick Setup
I am trying out the Michelin Slicks after a year on the Pirelli’s. Does anyone have settings they are willing to share that work well for the Michelins on a 718 Clubsport? I am thinking i might want to run more camber than the current 3.5 front. I am running the midwestern and southern tracks including Putnam, Barber, Mid Ohio and Road America. thx

I don't know what is best but i had -4 and -3.5 F/R and that seems to work pretty good at Mid Ohio. That was standard sized Michelins. When I moved to the Pirelli's I didn't like the set up at all. The car felt loose. and lacked the grip of my 987.2.

I think I am going to try -3.8 front/-3.3 rear which is a little more than the -3.5/-3.0 I am using now. I am also going to drop ride height a bit but keep sway bars at middle front and 4 on the blade in the rear.
Does anyone have a good toe setting in mm? I have seen a few different toe settings on this car. I think I am at 1.5 out on each side front and 1mm in on both sides in the rear.

From Manthey Racing. Pretty decent baseline I think. Yes I know it is a Pirelli setup. Most people will not be able to objectively evaluate a 0.3 degree change of anything, at least I can’t.

Very cool on the MR setup sheet. In the damper section does anyone know what the "4mm P; 15mm R; 20mm RD60" refers to? Is that something to do with bumpstops?

Bumpstops. Rear has a 4 mm and a 15 mm and a 20 mm. Different combos are homologated. See Tech Manual.

I’m running some of the same tracks, with Michelin slicks and my car was set up with Road America in mind.
Initial setup was:
3.3 f/2.9 r - both sides
1.0 toe f/2.0 rear
29 f/51 r perch height
80/81 f/105 r ride height
Corner weighting 667/657 f 934/880 r (accounting for 180 lbs of driver)
Since initial setup and three sessions at RA, I got recommendation (from a race engineer from Rahal-Letterman-Lanigan) to add 20-30 lbs more weight to RF given importance of the right hand turns at that track. Further suggestion was to bias the camber .3 lower on the right side tires for the same reason.
Hope this helps.
(The Michelins are awesome BTW - I drove the crap out of them and the wear was predictable and linear. I definitely drove them longer than I should have but zero complaints and will NBE mounting a new set tomorrow)
