Cosworth Pi Toolbox Licensing for the 718 GT4
Hey Sports Fans:
I don't know how many of you use the included Cosworth Pi Toolbox in your 718 Gt4. I have tried to use it, and sometimes teams that have supported me do use it. The issue that I have is that you register it (get a license key in an email) and then some time later 6 months or so, your license expires and you can't use it. I can't understand the logic behind this ridiculous thought process. Is it like a loyalty test or something?
I was at VIR this week and we wanted to look at some Pi data but could not. It may come as a shock to the powers that be, but not 100% of the country is covered in light pipe speed internet that you get get a license key in the middle of po dunk VA. OK it was within feet of the NC border, so maybe that was the problem.
I tried 4 times when I got home (to po dunk Pisgah Forest, NC) to get a new license but "the server was not responding". I have run IT stuff for a fairly good sized company, so I think I know how to cut and paste.
Would it seem reasonable that we should get a permanent license key that is good for the car forever, or am I just another demanding capitalist?
I sent an email to PMNA and posted on the Cosworth forum. Let me know if you want to join the movement.
Thanks,
Chris

Update. I uninstalled the complete Pi Toolbox, downloaded and then reinstalled the software requesting another key. That seems to have worked. I have been told on the Cosworth Forum that you license string only last 1 year.
If you have problems getting yours to work, try uninstalling the Pi Toolbox and reinstalling it with a new requested key. The last Windows update may have been what killed it, or something else.
