Default Michelin sizing

I'm going to run a new set of Michelin slicks tomorrow. I bought the tech manual recommended size 25/64/18 and 27/68/18. My buddy is running a bigger tire 27/65/18 up front and 30/68/18 in the rear- hard compound. Anyone else running this? What’s the benefit to run the bigger tire?

much closer in size to the 265-305 Pirelli. More grip most likely

27/65 18 Michelin is 295 mm wide in total, can't even See it fits?

So 27/65 on 9" rim. Recommended rim for that tire is 11". 295 wide tire on 9" sounds not right, can't See any advantage of running a wider wheel on a 2" to thin rim on a race car.

They fit fine on my 718 with stock rims. They look pretty much like the Pirelli's.

PCA mandates Pirelli's in the following sizes
265/645-18
305/680-18

They fit just fine.

Yes But pirelli 265/645 is 270 cm wide, about the same as Michelin 25/64, same with the rears, Michelin 27/68 is 300mm wide about the same as pirelli 305/680.
Michelin 30/68 is 337mm wide

Just good to know it fits! But Can't understand how MR/cf fenders up front? Have the oem, not rolled really much.

Mine are stock fenders not rolled and not MR.

I also ran a different slick than the N2. There could be some difference there.

Maybe I can post a picture of each

Once mounted the M Sports are not much bigger than the N2s and probably smaller than the Pirelis.

I measured the 27/65 and the 265/645 and they were both just under 10" of tread width.

Michelin 27/65/18 is almost identical size of Pirelli's 265/645-18. Same for the rear, 30/68/18 is about the same of 305/680-18. I have run both and physically measured the difference to make sure they can fit. I ended up using Michelin because I prefer the more direct feedback from Michelin's hard sidewall.
