Has anyone installed a chill out? If so where did you install the unit and how (where) did you tap into the power?
Thanks

Assume they require airflow for the chiller unit and thus give off heat into the space they are in. I'd given them a call, I suspect they can recommend options / preferred installations pros / cons of placement. One less heat source in the cabin (or a venting system to exhaust the heat) to me seems like a pro.

I have the Quantum Pro unit and installed it in the rear trunk. Obviously it's located near/above the engine so it's less than ideal but I have a passenger seat so no room to install it there. I did install a NACA duct with an inline blower which helps but ideally I'd install it where the passenger seat goes. Charles, the owner, is great to work with! I was at Mid Ohio last July and we got a fault on the unit and I reached out to him on Friday evening at 8:00pm and he took the call and walked me through the fix, which btw was user error! Should have read the damn instructions!

Why not install it in the fronk....its not like the car couldn't use a tad bit of weight up there.

Pretty easy once you know where you want it.

Is it ok to go directly to the battery with a inline fuse? When the power is off there is voltage at the negative terminal???? I don’t quite understand that

The main solenoid disconnects the GROUND. You can connect to the battery directly with an inline 40A fuse if you like or you can go on the output side of the solenoid and the unit will not be operating when the main is off. Obviously use a fuse there if you go that route.

BTW, the Chillout works fantastic so far. At the end of a 70 min enduro the fluid was 43 degrees!

Hows the reliability with the chillouts? I've heard....not good things from more than a few folks.

Been using mine the last 2 seasons. So far so good. Haven’t heard anything bad from the otherWRL/AER teams that run them, though I haven’t specifically asked recently either.

I know the WRL Team my guy runs had there's go out 2 hours in to I think a 8? hour race. One of my instructors mentioned the same to me. I still want one....as I just don't want to deal with ice etc.
