I am installing two Racetech seats in my car. I have a buyer for the factory seat and have found the Racetech tall skinny seat fits me much better. I will install a little wider seat for the passenger seat. I also plan to secure the seat to the roll cage so there is no movement and Racetech seats have attach points to accomplish this. I recommend you go sit in a few different models.

any decent sparco will do. If you want halos, I run the Sparco Circuit QRT and its awesome. Runs about $850 from online sources.

I installed an OMP HTE-R passenger seat. You can find them online for under $800, plus figure another $300 or so for seat rails and installation Seems well built and has a halo. Not a carbon seat but it's still fairly light at 20.4 lbs.
Plus, it's easy to remove for racing; just four bolts.

I tried to mount the BBi seat base in my wife's 981 Clubsport a few days ago and the slider bar hits the battery box. Even with the cover off, it seemed almost impossible to slide the seat forward enough to mount the rear bolts. Also, the rear of the BBi base plate mount has a cross bar that hits right up against the molt mount points for the sub belts. Do you have any tips on installing this? Am I just not seeing something obvious about the BBi base install? Thanks

Jeff

I had the same problem with my GMG base. We just removed the sliders and installed it in a fixed position

In order to get the seats to closely match the stock driver’s seat, i ended up with the Sabelt GT Pad seat with GMG seat base and Schroth harness. so far i’m happy with it.

Has anyone installed the Sabelt GT-Pad in a 981 CS for the right side? I think it is wider than the OMP HTE-R XL which may be more popular.
I plan to mount it to the floor without a slider. The driver side has the P1300 seat.

Whojoemama, sorry I misread your posts. I have confused the Sabelt X-Pad (which is a slender shell with very thin padding and is for Miata and Corvettes) with the Sabelt GT-Pad which is wider than most other seats from any manufacturer.

Information please: For your Sabelt GT-Pad installation did you remove the slider from the GMG base and bolt the mounts directly to the GMG base?
What seat mounts did you use?
Did you use the GMG base for the sub belt attachment or attach to the points in the floor reinforcement?
How much clearance is there between the left and right side seats?

Does anyone know if the 718 interior is larger than the 981?

TIA
