GT4 Clubsport Tires

I haven't tried the Hankooks yet on my Clubsport and I believe those are the sizes that Danny from Hankook gave me too for a 2016 CS. The race shop (that works on mostly Porsche GT3 Cups, etc.) I use cautioned me that the ABS on these cars works with a very, very tight tolerance and if the overall diameter is wrong the ABS won't work. This issue happened on another Porsche race car I had when I switched to a slightly different size and aspect tire. I had to switch back as the ABS was inoperable. Anyways, my race shop said that they have successfully used Pirelli, Michelin and Yoko on a CS but never Hankook so I was to be somewhat of a guinea pig if I tried them. Still haven't pulled the trigger but these sizes look to be a better fit? 280/650 Front and a 300/680 Rear

ABS
Also tested Yokohama’s this weekend in advance of Porsche trophy west event this coming weekend. Same issue here as hankooks but not as profound, as it’s larger than the .hankook but smaller than Mich and Pirelli. I had ABS issues all day and a friend who drove a 718 on same Yoko tires did not for above reasons.
Also update on new generation test of pirellis. Much better performance for both wear but outright grip. New version In my teammates opinion superior to all above on initial grip and fall off has improved. Not my test but another friend I race with input. Lap times proved this out also same day same car same track same driver.
So bottom line if you have a 981 CS best to run Pirellis or Michelin as the circumference won’t create drama w ABS which affects your ability to fully use brakes and also eats up your pads faster. At cota on yokos and hankooks this weekend was seeing brake pressure of 1200-1800 psi in the Motec data due to active ABS IMO. Of note my car is a trophy spec so does not have MR dual master. This also affects the ability to fully deploy stopping power of brakes. I race 981 cars w dual master cylinder (MR spec) and ABS not as active due to better race pedal.
Hope this helps as an update

Yes above is correct also. Should have stated that. ABS is super active w smaller diameter on the 981. On the 718 you can have your mechanic roll test the tire circumference and with a PWIS tell the Car that Info and ABS is not an issue for the 718 if done properly. .

Just to add a comment on the 718- the tire circumference measurement process is in the tech manual and the data can be input to the Cosworth display with a ethernet connection (cable comes with the car) and a laptop. So PWIS isn't necessary. I've only done it a couple of times but so far seems to work ok so far.

You have to change any settings in the suspension?
This is for the 981cs. Hankooks 25/64-18 and 28/68-18 are in this area, havn't had any issues after 4sets.

I have the Manthey kw trophy suspension. And the arb I run middle/middle or hard/hard on both michelins and hankooks, when the grip is gone it's still fun and works on soft/soft, But you have to "compete" with the 997gt3 instead of the 991gt3

Nordschleife Master
I've run Michelin Cup 2s (have to for AER/WRL here in US) in very different sizes and they worked fine. Didn't even know there was a ABS recalibration process, and the ABS seemed to just "figure it out". We are changing tire sizes again for an upcoming race, so will do the actual procedure this time. But I am very sure you can run different diameters on a 981CS just fine.

I will try the Yokohama a052. They are available in the right size for the rears. 285/35-18. Just to See How much slower they are and if they are slower even after a couple of heat cycles.
