Bosch designed the ride control technology for the 959 in conjunction with Bilstein at a huge loss. The R&D costs far exceeded sales in 959s. In order to recoup some losses a very similar setup was provided to GM and Ferrari. My 91 Corvette ZR-1 has active ride control using Bosch and bilstein parts. The shock damping is adjustable based on vehicle speed and a servo adjusting the shock valving. The ZR-1 also as tpms which may be a 959 derivative too.

My 996 doesn't have tpms which I find surprising.
