Colour of my 997 - Matte Blue - Thoughts please?
Hi All,
I just wanted to ask your opinion as to whether you like the colour of my 997.
Ive wrapped it in matte riviera blue and from the responses i get on the road its a marmite car. Some people feel the need to wind down the window to tell me how much they hate it.
I do appreciate this colour is very much an aquired taste.
I wanted to gauge all of your thoughts if i may.
Thanks very much in advance,
Chris

Hi, Chris. I think riviera blue is lovely, although I prefer shiny paint to a matte finish. The idea that people feel the need to be randomly rude over a car's color is staggering to me, but I should realistically accept that rudeness rules the day many times. Your car would make me smile if it passed me.

Raffey1, Thanks very much for your reply.
I really really appreciate it. For anyone thinking of a matte finish.... think again as keeping it clean and mark free is very difficult.
Once again Raffey, really appreciate your time.
Thanks.

Hey Chris, I’ve seen a few 911 cars in Miami blue (close in appearance to Riviera blue) and they strike me as quirky and very cool. As a matt vinyl wrap, this blue is a good choice, it’s a bright color so it mitigates the dullness for those of us who think cars should be shiny. Matt finish paint is a little impractical, as one can’t polish out little scuffs, acid bird droppings and whatnot without harming the matt texture of the finish. Since we can’t really clay bar, compound or polish vinyl anyways, in this case the matt texture will help hide some of the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune that happen to our car’s finish over time and in parking lots etc.
If people on the road (in little ****-box cars) are saying how much the hate car’s the color/finish, I would wear that as a badge of honor if I was you.

The next time someone says they don't like the color say "really? What color is your 911?" That should shut them up quick. If you like it, that's what matters. I think it rocks.
