Default 2005-2008 911 Carrera S or 2014 base Cayman purchase?

Looking for help in my next purchase. Based on budget I am willing to spend plus minus $45k I am trying to decide between 2005-2008 911 Carrera S or 2014 base Cayman.

2014 Cayman S is out of price range. I just retired on I am limited on what I plan to spend $45k plus taxes

The new last gen Cayman seem to have good reviews and many found under 5,000 miles. I am liking the new Cayman styling but do not like styling of older Caymans, sorry Cayman owners.

Nice 2005-2008 911 Carrera S with some nice options seem to have many in this price range with under 30,000 miles.

My use of car; sunny day rides, 2-4 easy track days (I use to be crazy into track days in group one and I instructed in my past 400hp race prep Lotus Elise)

Also looking into my next purchase to have good resale in 3-6 years

Any suggestions
or other models to look at? I have also thought about 2001 911TT or Lotus Exige S

Thanks Alan

911. It's the iconic Porsche sports car IMO. Cayman is a great car, so say all my friends who own one, but the 911 is an icon with a fifty year lineage. Buy one & your biggest problem will be trying to wipe that grin off your face.

Thank you, leaning more now to either a 996 turbo or 997 Carreras S
