Painting Cayman non-S caliper brakes bad form?
New member, received much good advice here prior to purchase, appreciate all the people who have posted. Bought a 2010 Cayman, after driving a very nice 996, but did not care for the driving feel. That's a separate issue.
The finish of the brake calipers is not good. Car is black. Was considering painting them, most likely red. Generally do not care a whole lot about what other people think, but I also do not really want to be a poser, i.e. attempting to make the car look like something it is not. Posing as fake would bother me. I did the calipers on my son's Subaru (now crashed) and they looked quite good. It was not a crappy job, so I can do it reasonably well. However, is doing so posing or being fake? Gauche? On a scale of 1-10, how bad? Quite frankly, there are very few Caymans where I live, so I'm not sure who I would be offending, but still. Don't want the equivalent of a big spoiler on some lesser car.
Grazie.
