Hi Anders,

Sounds intriguing. Do you have more details? Is the idea to have more weight forward of the axle? I've always wondered why someone didn't just turn the engine around 180 degrees and make it mid-engined?

I can't wait to hear more/see photos of this!

Cheers,

David

I just found the page, but it's sounds like a nice project. Those Saab turbo engines are extremely nice. and I had a 1995 900 turbo with 185 hp as a company car during a year.

Hi Anders,

I've just realised that it's not your project (Doh!). Interesting one though. I had a 9-3 turbo when I was in the States with 207hp (I had the Saab Sport exhaust) and that certainly went well. I'm not sure how they will get on having no torque at the bottem end? The complete opposite to a regular 911!

Cheers,

David

David, the Saab engines are very tuneable and there are many SAAB-freaks here in Sweden.

There are a few 2,3 liter engined cars that produce well over 400 hp reliably, the biggest problem is the gearbox and these guys have chosen to use a 930 4-speed so that shouldn't be a problem.

Check out a video of this modified 9-3 aero. The engine has got stock internals and is leaving 360 Modenas behind on the straights. This guy is also known to leave superbikes in the dust..

The car is owned by Robert Uhr, Saab-tuner here in Sweden.
