At 40 I got a 98 C2S / 993. What a wonderful and intoxicating car!
At 41 I replaced the totalled 993 with a 996. I still miss the 993, but love the 996 too. The 993 was more viceral. I should have had more respect for the power. Now I do.

What do you do when you are 15 and the police officer asks you for you license because you were driving around the neighborhood without heat exchangers/muffler (I was saving up)? It went something like this: "Son, you do have a license don't you". "Well sir, I hope to get it one day but it all depends on how much we tell my parents about today".

got the porsche after totaling my vette convertible... was cheaper to insure... but was hooked & never went back-----> now six years later!
