Don,

i believe Cayenne is 999. (at least this is what i have heared many times, and believe i read that in excellence or 911 and porsche world as well.)
901 is the early 911 transmition (not sure if both 4 and 5 were 901, or just the 5spd was 901)
the 915 was a 4 spd transmition for mid 70's-80s 911's. (mayby 5 spd as well)
989 is boxster i think (left blank on your list)
as far as "923 -6 CYLINDER ENGINE FOR 912E " i have never heared of a 6 cyl 912e. a 912E is a 4 cylinder, with the same type 4 engine that the 914 had.

when i get time, ill see what i have. before we switched to the new boards, i was posting a picture of every 900 model according to the post. for 900 i payed tribute to some of the most important pre 900 series, both before and after porsche as a company. after the switch occoured, i lost 50 posts, and was back down to 100. when i get to 951, ill pick up where i left off.

hopfuly robert (rjt 993) can chime in and help fill some of the blanks as well.

(sorry i couldnt help myself here.... im a porsche nerd)

here is my favorite 'pre-porsche' porsche, probably the best pre porsche, as a company, example of his work, wich would be a foreshadowing of what was to come.

i give you... The 1939 KDF 60K10

oh and heres some good stuff... https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...threadid=71952

oh and heres somthing for the vw crowd, dont forget the type 1 engine, and the type 1 (beetle). as well as all the prototypes for the beetle (not enough time to find them right now, will post them later).

I am also going to email Porsche HQ to see if I can solicit some help from them. I'll post if anything else follows that e-mail.

Looks like you got em all!
All of the Cayenne's part numbers start with 955. In the past, the first three #s of the part # were the cars model #. A lot of people assumed that its a 955 because of the part#. My friend that works for PCNA says it is a 9PAAE1!! My invoice for the C is typed model #....9PAEE1.
I didn't see the "999" designation written in Excellence, I'll have to check it out again.

WAIT.....I went back and looked through the list again. The early Formula 1 car was the 804, right? What was the number of the F1 car that was sponsered by Footwork???

Unless that would be the TTE PO 1-22 Tag.....

And the Indy cars were designated '2708' for the Quaker State car and 'P6B' for the Interscope car that never raced.

They did not want to give the numbers up! I understand that they are internal, however COME ON! Well, looks like it's a big secret at P. AG. PCNA said the same thing. The guy on phone in fact said that he had the list in front of him but he couldn't send it to me in any way shape or form. I have a plan B, but it may land me in the pokey. It involves flashlights, dark clothes and a grappling hook.

Well, I echo others. Please keep us up to date with your list. Mine is on Excel so I can add to it as you guys come up with stuff!
