Porsche literature collectors thread

Hi all,

Being a new member, I have tried to find a thread on Porsche literature here, but there doesnīt seem to be any yet. So, maybe itīs time to start one :)

Iīd love to hear from other members that - like me - collect Porsche brochures, magazines and books.

We could use this thread to show rare pieces of our collections, give & get advice on which literature is available where, comment on newly issued books, stuff like that.

But first letīs see if other members are interested too, or if Iīll stay all alone here :(

Best regards from Munich, Germany

I don't have much, but I have a few owners manuals in my collection. 89 964 C4, 78 930 Turbo Carrera, 83 944 among them.

My favorite piece in my collection is the 1963 print Carrera Twin-Cam assembly manual. It is the most perfect edition I have ever seen, and I got a deal on it.

I've got a bunch of 356 stuff (for my 356) including service booklet, original manual, and most of the Panos from Jan '60 thru Dec '69 ...

Wouldn't mind selling off the Panos...

I bought a few 996 2004 40th Anniversary Edition items on eBay - brochure, poster. I also have some stuff that Porsche sent as promo items like a USB memory stick.

Here are some other books from my collection: They are issued by the Porsche Museum and at just 15 Euros a piece, very nicely done. All are in German/English and the collection is still growing. I have about eight pieces of this series now, soon two more are to be issued by the Museum: "Porsche in America" and "60 Years of Porsche Clubs Worldwide".

Several of these books can also be bought through German Ebay and I think through Amazon too. However, the latest edition "Porsche Exclusive" seems only to be for sale directly in the Museum.

Indeed, thatīs great too! Iīve bought several large lots of Christophorus on Ebay over the years and I have it nearly complete from the late 1970s onwards now. Earlier issues are increasinly expensive, but slowly Iīd like to add these too - there are just so many nice books and magazines still out there to be bought :)

I must agree with you. I regret having not kept all of my collection of Excellence magazines when I moved. I did however keep some vintage stuff including a USA today proof of Porsche's last Le Mans win. Have you looked at any of Ulrich Upietz's books? Very high quality. The GT1 books are excellent!

If you are interested in motor sport I highly recommend Norbert Singer's 24:16 and Hans Mezger's book. Paul Frere is great too.

Thanks, I donīt think I have any of the four you recommend yet, but Iīll surely get them at one point. 145 Porsche books in my collection now, so there are still really many out there that Iīd like to buy!

The pics you show are from Porscheīs own literature collection in the museum Stuttgart, right?

Ciao,

Lars

Hereīs another book from my collection - a very interesting one about 50 years of Kremer Racing. This is the limited edition (250 pcs), but thereīs also a less costly regular edition available. I think itīs only in German language though.
