Post Moulded plastic dash covers... opinions?

Typically, the dash board in my 924S has succumbed to the sun and begun to crack. Finding a crack-free dash is both rare and expensive if you do find one so I have begun thinking about a moulded plastic dash cover from Tweeks or Performance Products. I'd like to hear opinions, good or bad, from anyone who has one of these in their Porsche before I order it. Anyone?

So far I have seen to stay away from Coverlay. I am purchasing one from www.topsonline.com and it is a www.dashtops.com product. I will post my findings on fitment. Their has been posts that coverlay are short by a 1/4 of an inch. Thanks

I put a cover from Dashtop on a RX7 and its fit and color were good. The only thing I don't like about it is that it has a glossy finish compared to the original.

I know it's a few thousand miles away and the sun is kinda poor over here but try theese guys. http://www.clubautosport.co.uk/ they have started doing the kits, they also do various other bits so worth taking a look around site, all fiberglass products made on site and quality is very good, just waiting for Mick to make my fiberglass doors to loose the last bit of weight.

Thanks adie, I'll check out the site!

OT: any chance you could bring over a set of Guards Red euro 924/944 bumpers (and the required brackets/lights/etc) for me when you come? Those would be really cool to have over here. Any idea what they're worth?

Cheers!

you could email Dan Brindle:

dbrindle@kondratyev.com

he reconditions 928 pods and dashes (i think), you could ask him about doing a 924 dash...

The coverlay will eventually warp and crack. I went through 2 on my 1983 944. You can't glue them too tight or they will crack. You glue them too loose, and they will warp.
